From the Wings - International Thespian Society
Did you know that The Rashi Middle School has been a member of The International Thespian Society since 2003? The International Thespian Society (ITS) is an organization that recognizes excellence in School Theater Programs for both Middle School and High School. To be inducted in the organization as a member a student must dedicate 50+ hours of time during non-school times. These hours must be both onstage and backstage, rehearsal and performance as well as festivals which gives students a chance to see other work from their peers. The Rashi Middle School has inducted over 150 students in the last 15 years. Some of these students have spent more than 150 hours in the theater over their 3 years in Middle School. Each year we have a Theater Dinner and Induct the new students with a candle lighting ceremony - a little tradition that passes the torch year to year.
We are happy to welcome Ben Adelson to the membership from working on "Phantom Tollbooth". We will be adding to the list this year as we participate in the MS Theater Festival and the Spring Musical. The Induction Ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, May 14th at 6PM.
