Newbridge Visit (memories)

Last week, the second graders read the book "Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge" by Mem Fox. This is a story about a boy, Wilfrid, who helps an elderly friend, Nancy, to regain some of her memory.

This year, we have been focusing on our own memories as a way to formulate story writing and as we learned from the book, not everyone has such an easy time remembering. This beautiful book helped us prepare for our visit today to Newbridge where the second graders helped the residents in the memory unit create memory boxes.

The children were absolutely amazing with the residents and truly rose to the occasion. It definitely made the residents day and we are so proud of them!
