For Parents...The Power of Our Words for this New Year

THE POWER OF OUR WORDS FOR THIS NEW YEAR

Dear Rashi Parents,

Shana Tova!

I am excited to share with you my first-ever social justice blog post for parents! My hope is to connect with you throughout the year through these posts and share meaningful and thought-provoking ideas that have the potential to transform us and our world.

In my initial lessons about the High Holidays with the younger students during these first few weeks of school, we have been talking about the power of our words. I invite you to take a look at this short TED piece by Benjamin Zander titled: Lessons from Auschwitz: The Power of our Words. The message can be very powerful and perhaps life changing for all of us.

To a year filled with peace, kindness and justice,

Stephanie Rotsky (Social Justice Coordinator)
