Monarch Mania

In our busy second week of school we continued getting to know each other while building our classroom community. We started our Prehistory and math units while continuing to discuss Wonder. In science, students worked on making careful observations. We have all been watching intently since the first day of school, waiting for our chrysalises to become Monarch butterflies. On Thursday afternoon our first Monarch, Cinderella, appeared. On Friday morning, while the students were in music, the second Monarch, Greg, made his appearance. We were in the right place at the right time and captured the moment Greg came out of his cocoon. After recess, we released both Monarchs outside.
