What's New in Grade Two! - 9/6/2018

Welcome to our second grade blog! Each blog will be written by different students. The bloggers will be sharing what's happening in our classroom. This week's blogger is Mila! Here are some things Mila enjoyed learning about this week:

My Favorite Activity We've Done this Week:
I really liked making our self-portraits. I really like art and drawing, and it was a lot of fun.

Something New I Learned:
I learned about making Hopes and Dreams for our school year. I hope to be a good leader this year, and I want to get better at reading, and make my handwriting better this year.

Something we did in Math today:
We looked at all different patterns. We used unifix cubes. We made ABAB patterns, AABAAB patterns, ABB patterns, and ABCABC patterns. Yesterday I used the cuisenaire rods and I made a huge tower. We used the biggest rods first and then built up to the smallest rods to create our pattern.

What it Means to be a Scientist:
Yesterday we learned that everyone is a scientist. I knew you could be a scientist in different ways, but I had never thought about how everyone could be a scientist. I'm excited to learn more about the brain this year in science!

Something I really enjoy:
Having my own desk!
