Behind The Scenes

Everyone's working very hard behind the scenes in the theater at Rashi.  Seven middle school students work after school on Tuesday and Thursday with Mike.  They are currently working on the challenges for the middle school's fall production of The Phantom Tollbooth.  We're currently building the castle in the air, but they still need to think about Milo's bedroom as well as his car and the many other locations we visit.  Everyone's working hard to take the audience to these places, not just via the set, but also with lighting and sound.

Bonny and Erica are working with a large group of students that will be working on the props and costumes used it the show.  Their work has been a bit slow so far, due to our lack of Mondays, but they'll kick into high gear starting on the 15th.

On Friday, the 7th graders had Tech Theater as one of their design electives.  They started working on designs for both Dictionopolis and the Number Mine.  The students started drawing and brainstorming on paper before moving on to scale drawings.  The next step is to scale up their drawings to full sized are realize their vision from concept to completion.  Of course, once the designs are cut out, the students will jump into painting their pieces.
