From The Wings

ITS Officers Eitan, Josh, and Molly

Hello! We are your International Thespian Society officers for this school year. We have many goals for this year including going on a few theatre trips, inviting International Thespian Society alumni to our performances and our annual meeting, starting student-designed programs again, as well as many others. We look forward to making many of these things happen this year.
“The golden age is before us, not behind us.” -William Shakespeare

I’m Molly Hughes, the President of the International Thespian Society troupe here at Rashi. This is my seventh year participating in theatre at Rashi. Some of my favorite roles I’ve played at Rashi are Ti Moune in Once on this Island Jr. and Marty in Madagascar: A Musical Adventure Jr.  Outside of school, I participate in an a cappella group, a traveling performing, and outreach group, and different theatre productions. This is going to be a fun-filled and exciting year continuing old traditions and starting new ones.

“We know what we are, but know not what we may be.” - William Shakespeare

My name is Eitan. I am the Vice President of the International Thespian Society troupe number 88606. I have been acting and doing a little bit of tech at Rashi since 2nd grade. By now, I’ve been in six finished and performed shows; Folktales From Around The World, And Then There Was One, Madagascar: A Musical Adventure Jr., Jolly Roger and The Pirate Queen, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, and Once on this Island Jr. But there is a lot more than theatre to me. I am what someone would call a “movie geek.” If there’s any movie with a good plot or actors that I haven’t watched, it’s on my to-watch list. But what makes me a movie geek isn’t that I love to watch movies, it’s that I love to find out what goes on behind them. You can ask me about almost any movie that I’ve watched, and I can probably tell you at least one fun fact about it. Other than that, a great passion of mine is board games or any game that involves strategy in it, really. I could spend hours talking about strategies to use in R.I.S.K., ways to find out more information in Mafia, or how to buy up the whole board in Monopoly. I guess you could call me a jack-of-all-trades. When it comes to my personality, you can never know what to expect.

Hello, my name is Josh Slater and I am the Secretary of the ITS troupe. I have been at Rashi for 5 years and have been doing the Middle School Drama Program for 2 years. I appeared in Jolly Roger and the Pirate Queen, and Once on this Island, Jr. I ran sound for our METG State Drama Festival production of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, and helped backstage for And Then There Was One. This year, I’m looking forward working behind the scenes on our fall production of The Phantom Tollbooth. Outside of school, I swim on a swim team and ski at Stratton Mountain.
