The Fifth Grade Times October 5, 2018

The Fifth Grade Times
Anne Glanz and Sharon Packer

Though this was another shortened week, the fifth graders forged ahead, learning new ways to multiply large numbers, how to graph the results of their banana experiment, viewed a movie about the famous prehistoric woman named Lucy, wrote personal “I AM” poems, and also wrote about a precept of their own choosing.

We were impressed to see that by the end of the  banana experiment, our students had became more skilled observers, generated deeper questions, and started to contemplate additional experiments to test their revised hypotheses. Below are some of the comments and questions that they generated during a discussion of their findings. Please ask your child to explain their results. She/he will definitely have suggestions about slowing the pace at which bananas ripen.

Shabbat Shalom and enjoy the great weather that is expected this long weekend.
