Week of October 1st
We had a very full (if short) week.
Ask your children:
1) What is a shoe greeting? (A fun way to say good morning!)
2) Who are Adar and Nitzan? (Our Shinshinim visitors this year from Israel. They are adorable!)
3) How many days did it take G-d to create the world? (It took six days and on the seventh day, G-d rested.)
4) We had a visit from a Beekeeper, Mrs D. Ask your child what their favorite part of Mrs. D's presentation was? What are the four stages of a bee's lifecycle? (Egg, larva, pupa, bee). What are some of the jobs that bees have? (They can be nurses, guards, drones, field workers or a queen bee. However, there is only one queen bee per colony). Can bees sting other insects? (Yes, they can and it doesn't kill them, unlike when they sting people.)
5) What did we do when we visited the Sukkah? (We said the blessings over the Lulav and Etrog and had a chance to smell the lovely lemony scent of the etrog.)
6) Why did we have Library today? (We usually have it on Monday, but since we have not had a Monday for several weeks, we got a chance for a make up class today.)
Here are some pictures from our week. Enjoy!

Our Shinshinim: Adar and Nitzan
They will be visiting our classroom throughout the year to teach us about life in Israel. Sometimes they will have lunch and recess with us too!
We met Mrs. D, a Beekeeper and learned so much about Honeybees!
Smelling the honeycomb
We were very brave holding a jar of Honeybees!
We tasted honey made by her bees. Delicious!!
