End of November Fun

During Social Studies, First Graders worked together to outline and paint a large mural of Israel. Next week we will be labeling major Cities on our map.

First Graders learned about the Thanksgiving story while making a bracelet with different color beads on it. Ask your child what the different colors on their bracelet means.

We also wrote different reasons we are thankful on strips of paper, then turned them into pumpkin centerpieces for Thanksgiving.

During Jewish Studies last week, students learned that Jacob's name was changed to Israel. Each student decorated a nameplate with their name meaning. Look for your child's name plate on their lockers!

While learning about the map of Israel, students made 3-D maps showing grassy, salty, water and sandy regions.

We finished the story of My Father's Dragon! Each student made a representation of a character from the story and added it to our collaborative bulletin board!  Please stop by to see this amazing creation.

First Graders continued to prepare for their play by illustrating their line.

On Monday, first graders celebrated the 50th days of school by working as a table to find combinations of 50, based on the book, One is a Snail, Ten is a Crab by April Pulley.
