Happy Hanukkah! Week of December 3rd
On Wednesday, first graders spent time with the residence at Newbridge reading Hanukkah stories, making Hanukkah cards, putting Hanukkah tattoos on and playing dreidel.
On Thursday, the 8th graders from the Leo Baeck school in Israel came to visit us! They brought us Hanukkah activities to do.
First Graders began the learning about shelters last week by answering the question "What makes a shelter?" We then took a close look at a picture book by Giles Laroche, If You Lived Here. Using paper cutouts, Mr. Laroche created beautifully detailed illustrations of homes around the world. First Graders sketched the outside of the Rashi School, while also discussing how Rashi is a shelter. This week we will be creating a collage of the Rashi School, using Mr. Laroche's style.

Come check out our labeled map of Israel. If you have lived in or visited a place in Israel, please schedule a time with us so we can label it on our map!
