Week of December 3rd
What a busy week! Happy Hanukkah!
Ask your child:
1) What activity did we do with our important person, Flora, on Monday morning? (We made Chanukah candles out of beeswax.)
2) What did you learn in robotics this week? How did you program your partner? What does that mean? (We wrote programs to ask our partners to go forward, spin, beep, turn, etc.)
3) On Wednesday, we went to Newbridge to read books with some of the residents. Ask your child what story they heard and what activities they did afterwards. (Some wrote cards to the residents, some got Hanukkah tattoos, some got to play dreidel.)
4) On Wednesday afternoon we had tribes. Ask your child what their tribe activity was and, did they have fun? (There were lots of different activities. Our group made decorations for the class dance and for Kabbalat Shabbat, another made a paper chain menorah and wrote "what light's up your life" on the chains.)
5) Why was Ms. Berks' son and the Israeli 8th graders in our classroom on Thursday? (The 8th graders came with their Israeli visitors to do some Chanukah activities with us. We made a cute dreidel puppet and colored a black screen chanukiah. They also brought us some aprons to take home.)
6) What is your favorite song for Chanukah? Can you sing it for us? (There are a lot of favorites!)
