Glanz/Packer 5th grade

Though we call it the Science Fair Kick-Off, we and our students know that they've already done a good deal of thinking about their science fair experiments. But it was definitely exciting for each kid to meet her/his mentor, who listened carefully to our students who explained what the experiment would examine. Mentors then helped the mentee plan out the exact materials that would be needed and as well as the detailed procedures that will be used to carry out the experiment.  This morning, each student transferred this information along with the question, hypothesis, and research already done, to a google site that will be used to store all of the data that will be collected, as well as the graphs and analyses that will come later.

This week, our students worked diligently to learn about a god/goddess of Ancient Egypt, a famous pharaoh, a symbol that was used widely, and an object that was buried in the tombs of famous pharaohs. They then created posters to advertise an exhibit of Ancient Egyptian artifacts that would have this information and artifacts on display. The posters came out very well. More importantly, the kids learned a great deal from their research.

Shabbat Shalom and have a wonderful weekend.
