Week of January 14

Ask your child:

What was Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream? (That his children would be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character). (That black kids and white kids can be friends).

What are some dreams that you have? (That my mom won't have to get any of my brothers "pernament" teeth out of his mouth! Danny). (That the whole world will be treated fairly - Maya S.) (I want every person in the world to have a family. Zoe) (My children will grow up happy and healthy and have a job that they love. Ms. Berks)

What have you done to get ready for our Stone Soup play? (We had a rehearsal on the big stage with Bonny.) (We are practicing our lines and our song and dance in class and on the stage).

In math, which number does the crocodile like better? (He opens his jaws widest for the bigger number   5 > 1).

Why did so many children in our class have casts and bandages on this week? (For Jake's important person activity, his mom brought in some special materials that we could use to practice our first aid skills).
