Week of May 20th

This was another very busy week for us, so let's get right to it!

In Science we planted lima beans in regular soil and in our compost. Which plants are growing faster? (The compost ones are exploding. See picture below.)

Ask your child: What is happening to their caterpillar? (Most of them have transitioned into chrysalises by now, but not all of them!)

Where does Ms. Berks put the chrysalis when it has formed? (Into our butterfly habitat hanging in the back of the classroom.)

What did we do when the Adar and Nitzan, the Shinshinim, came to visit? (We played games outside with them.)

This week we had our last Tribes of the year. What did you do in your Tribe? (We painted rocks for a Rock Garden that will be built near the playground this summer. And we had popsicles!)

Thursday was Lag B'Omer. Lag B'Omer is the 33rd day of counting the Omer and it is usually a fun day for kids. What did we do at the assembly on Lag B'Omer? (Several people in our school are getting their hair cut and donating it to a good cause.) Which students in our class contributed their hair? (Emmie and Gabby. Kol Hakavod!)

Sam's birthday reading.  Happy 6th Birthday Sam!

Our seeds planted in compost are growing so much faster than the seeds planted in regular soil!

Reading our stories with each other in the sun.

Playing games with Nitzan and Adar

Danny's birthday reading.  Happy 6th Birthday Danny!

Congratulations to Emmie and Gabby for participating in the mitzvah of donating your hair to a worthy cause!

Before and after!

Zoe's Important Person Activity; we made butterfly masks and bouncy balls with Zoe and her parents.
