Kindergarten: The Power of Our Words and Actions - Part 2

Kindergarten: The Power of Our Words and Actions - Part 2

During tefila last week, an alarm went off on my phone catching the attention of the kindergarten students. I explained that I was setting an alarm at different times leading up to Rosh Hashanah to remind me to think about what I want to do better for the coming year. I pulled out my "to do" list and shared it with everyone. I invited every student to think about one or two things that they would like to do better in the new year and really work on it.

Building upon the idea from the past few weeks that our words and actions have a lot of power and connecting back with the concept of one person's words and actions can have an amazing DOMINO EFFECT on others, we read the book Because Brian Hugged His Mother by David L. Rice.

Ask your child...Because Brian hugged his mother, how many other people had his kindness passed on?

After reading the story, we worked in small groups and created our own "Because" stories showing how the domino effect could happen between the students and their actions...
