Winter Weather
Dear Kindergarten Families,
Thanks for checking out our blog! Here's a bit of what's happening in our different subject areas. You'll find the link for pictures below.

In our subject areas:
Fundations:
We have begun to "tap out" CVC words (consonant, vowel, consonant) which helps students to hear individual sounds and blend them together in order to decode print.
Math:
attributes, patterns, number lines, adding quantities
Science:
winter weather, states of matter, and how New England animals adapt to winter
Jewish Studies:
Parashat Vayetse (in which Jacob high tails it out of town to avoid Esau's wrath and later meets Rachel, one of his wives. We are a little behind what's read in temples.)
Social Studies:
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., fairness and the Civil Rights Movement

- Kindergarten will present our play, Stone Soup, on Thursday, January 30th. We'll need you here by 7:45 that day and the play will be finished by 9:00.
- Next week's Shabbat helpers will be Ella and Zev.
- Next week's featured Important Person of the Week will be Ella.
- Myles will be the featured Important Person of the Week during the week of Feb. 10 - 14.
