5th Grade Glanz /Packer Red Fish

Red Fish

Today was our first official science lesson. Each student was given a 3 inch, red fish made from cellophane. Their task was to observe the fish carefully. Almost immediately, the fish started to wiggle but this wasn't the case when placed on the desks. What was going on?? Working in pairs, our young scientists came up with several hypotheses to explain this peculiar phenomenon. We also viewed a short video about the history of cellophane.  On Friday, the pairs of students will conduct an experiment to test their hypothesis. They will likely be bringing some materials from home for this purpose.

FYI- School pictures are tomorrow.
