The First Week of Fourth

We just finished our first Kabbalat Shabbat of the year. The students sang and danced and listened respectfully. Also this week, we had our first Minyan as fourth graders. The students did a wonderful job acting as role models to the third graders. Here's a quick glance into the beautiful praying that took place:

In the classroom, we finished projects that were started earlier in the week. We also began our first math unit: Magic Squares. It's a fun unit that makes it easier to get our brains back into "math mode" after the summer, while brushing up on our computation skills. We have been so impressed with how engaged and participatory students have been during the lessons. And we love how they have helped each other and worked together.  We look forward to beginning our first science and social studies units next week.
