Wonderful Week 2!

We had a great second week of school and enjoyed having our parents visit our classroom for Back to School Night! We learned about apples and their connection to Rosh Hashanah. We also started writing our own stories in Writers Workshop by first thinking of a topic, then making a sketch and labeling, and then writing our words.

In Math this week we learned that attributes are characteristics describing an object. We talked about the different attributes of triangles, squares, rectangles, and circles. We worked together to sort these shapes by their attributes: color, how many corners and sides, and size. Ask your child about special rectangle!

In social studies we learned what a Venn Diagram is and compared and contrasted our shoes!

We danced with GoNoodle for a movement break.

We continued learning about apples when we read How Do Apples Grow? by Betsy Maestro. We cut out the parts of the apple and glued them into our Science Sketchbooks.

In morning meeting, we discussed the reasons we come to school everyday
