Shin Shin Visit
Today, we had our first visit from the Shin Shin students (Bar and Shira)! They came in to teach us about a habitat that is near and dear to their hearts in Israel,-Mount Carmel. This aligned perfectly with our new unit on habitats!
To start, they had the children draw pictures of what a tree would look like in New England in the different seasons and compared those to the trees in Mount Carmel. As we learned, all of the trees in Mount Carmel are Evergreen trees so they do not change color. They also taught us about the different wildlife that live in this habitat, and finally, taught us a bit about the history of Mount Carmel. The kids really enjoyed having Bar and Shira in our classroom and learned a lot!
