Week of November 13, 2017: First Grade Abraham/ Gulman
First graders displayed their "car magnets," which featured ways to promote
Shalom Bayit, peace at home.
These magnets declared: Be respectful, Be kind, Help my sister, Ask for help!
This week's Torah parasha introduced students to Esau and Jacob, the twin sons of Isaac and Rebecca. Sibling rivalry was strong between the brothers, especially when Jacob tricked his father and brother to receive the family's birthright. First graders put themselves in the shoes of these feuding brothers and wrote imaginary letters!
We zoomed in on the country of Israel this week!
Every child in our class helped to create
a 6-foot high painted map.
We identified and labeled important cities, regions, bodies of water, and surrounding countries.
