Week of November 6-November 9
This week we continued our study of the planets and the class conducted their very own experiment to better understand the gaseous atmosphere of Venus! Students dropped baking soda from a ballon into a water bottle filled with vinegar to very exciting results. Below, you can see their fully inflated balloons and view a video of the experiment taking place.
The class also read the book Postcards from Pluto, which is filled with humorous and informative postcards detailing each planet in our solar system! Students had the opportunity to practice their friendly letter writing format as they wrote their own postcards, sharing details they learned about a planet of their choosing. Ask your child about which planet they chose to write to and why. What have they learned in their planet research so far?
