Drumlin Farm Animal Visit 12/6- Blogger Henry Zisow-

On Wednesday afternoon, a woman from Drumlin Farm came to show us some of the animals that live there. The animals are part of Drumlin Farm because they are either injured or were raised by humans and can no longer survive in the wild. We saw three animals: a mallard duck, a painted turtle, and a starling. My favorite was the turtle because turtles are my favorite animals. I learned that it is illegal to keep a turtle you find in the wild as a pet. The turtle kept trying to get out of the glass cage but she kept falling over. She didn't realize there was glass there.

We weren't able to touch the turtle but we got to hold a shell that another turtle used to live in. I saw the spine of the turtle. She told us that snapping turtles grow much bigger than painted turtles, and painted turtles are not snapping turtles.

Below are some more pictures from the visit!

Ask your child which Charles River animal they are researching!
