Science Fair Experiments
5th grade is working hard preparing for next month's Science Fair! Thanks so much to all the parents who generously gave of their time and energy to help our students complete their investigations.
5th graders ask: Are some sodas worse for our teeth than others? Can adding salt affect how well something floats in water? Does singing to plants help them grow? What kind of ice melt (salt, sand or sugar) works best? Will adding more batteries to a light glove add more light output?
Carefully formulating a question and a hypothesis, controlling the variables to ensure accurate results, and reproducing the experiment to improve data quality have taught out students essential scientific research skills. We can't wait to show you the results of our research in March!
